Castlelake was founded in 2005 by Rory O’Neill and Evan Carruthers, innovators in alternative investing with nearly five decades of combined experience. In the approximately 18 years since our inception, we have deployed more than $39 billion across 70+ countries. Castlelake strives to deliver compelling risk-adjusted returns that we believe are largely non-correlated and downside protected by pairing discipline and consistency with a pioneering mindset and willingness to underwrite complexity. Our goal is to deliver attractive performance throughout various economic cycles or market conditions. With a comprehensive capital strategy and experience investing across economic cycles, we believe our team is positioned to harness market disruption, respond to capital competition and continuously discover attractive investment opportunities. Our global team of more than 220 employees includes 80 investment professionals. With a presence in three continents and experience across approximately 1,300 investments in 70+ countries, our experience and scope is global in nature.

Castlelake seeks investments that address a variety of risk-return profiles: deep value through investment grade credit. We believe the combination of this structural flexibility with our deep asset expertise and relationship-based approach provides us with differentiated sourcing and positions us as an efficient capital solutions provider.
Flexible liquidity provider in complex opportunities
The Castlelake team prides itself on developing long-term relationships with sellers, buyers and other counterparties that we believe are built on trust, fairness and transparency. We seek out opportunities to act as a flexible liquidity partner in dislocated assets and to attempt to unlock value from complicated situations. We believe that our focus on relationships provides us with a strong origination and investment management network that helps facilitate our niche yet global approach.
As of December 31, 2023, Castlelake manages assets on behalf of approximately 200 institutions and partners globally, including endowments, foundations, public and private pension plans, private funds, family offices, insurance companies and sovereign wealth funds. Castlelake will make Form 20 available to investors at their request.
