David Taylor

Mr. Taylor joined Castlelake in 2025 and leads the Aviation Asset Management team and its technical management of the firm’s fleet of aircraft and spare engines. Prior to joining Castlelake, Mr. Taylor served as Chief Operations Officer of ABL Aviation, an independent aircraft asset management company that specializes in structuring and managing aircraft investments for institutional investors. Prior to joining ABL, Mr. Taylor was the Global Head of Technical Transactions at Avolon, a large international aircraft leasing and lease management services company. Mr. Taylor was also Head of Asset Management at Santos Dumont, a full-service operating lease platform, and a licensed engineer and engineering manager at Ryanair. Mr. Taylor has a diploma in Corporate Finance from the Chartered Accountants of Ireland, a Business and Technical Aircraft Management Certificate from the Irish Aviation Authority and has completed an Executive Education course with INSEAD. David holds multiple Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Licenses (EASA Part 66, B1, B2 & C) and is a licensed FAA Private Pilot.
