Armin Rothauser

Mr. Rothauser joined Castlelake in 2020 and is Partner, Capital Markets. In this role, he is responsible for guiding the Capital Markets team and the firm’s financing strategies, including creating tailored financing solutions that support investment execution, raising debt capital, and originating new investment opportunities. Mr. Rothauser also shares oversight of Castlelake’s European Investment team and is responsible for Merit AirFinance, a subsidiary of Castlelake focused on aviation lending.

Mr. Rothauser is a member of Castlelake’s Executive Committee and Investment Review Committee. During his tenure, he has helped advance the firm’s capital markets strategy and financing capabilities by expanding in-house structuring and financing expertise, managing relationships with banks, rating agencies, and financing counterparties, and supporting initiatives that have helped lower financing costs, managed exposure, and enabled proactive repricing and refinancing. He has also played a central role in accelerating Castlelake’s platforms strategy.

Prior to joining Castlelake, Mr. Rothauser was a Managing Director at Starwood Capital Group, where he led the firm’s expansion into credit and served as head of its hard asset platform. Earlier in his career, he was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank, where he ran the Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy Lending group and later co-headed the bank’s global structured credit business. He also served as a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, where he led hard asset trading businesses.

Mr. Rothauser received his B.B.A. in finance from Pace University.
